Located near Kobe Bay, the distillery benefits from the ocean-laden air, adding a unique saline purity to its creations.

Rich Heritage and Unique Craftsmanship

Founded in 1888, Eigashima Shuzo holds Japans first whisky license, issued in 1919. The Akashi distillery, known for its meticulous attention to quality, began serious malt production in 1984. This single malt whisky is aged in American oak casks that previously held Kijoshu, a concentrated and sweet style of sake. This aging process imparts a nuanced flavor profile, making it one of the rarest whiskies available today.
