Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Pessac Leognan 2022

Description:

Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte is a renowned winery located in the Pessac-Lognan appellation of Bordeaux, France. Known for its commitment to sustainable viticulture and traditional winemaking techniques, the estate produces wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. The growing season is crafted from a blend of classic Bordeaux varietals, predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with smaller proportions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wine undergoes fermentation in temperature-controlled vats, followed by aging in French oak barrels, which imparts a subtle oak influence. It exhibits a complex flavor profile with notes of dark berries, cassis, and hints of tobacco, complemented by a well-structured tannin framework and balanced acidity. This wine pairs beautifully with roasted meats, game, and rich stews.
