About the Winemaker

Lena-Maria Julier, known as \"Lelle,\" is a natural winemaker based in the Pfalz region of Germany, where she introduced a holistic, chemical-free winemaking philosophy to her family\'s Weingut Schmitzer-Julier estate. After gaining experience in South Tyrol and with the Heinrich winery in Austria, Lelle developed a focus on vibrant, expressive natural wines that often utilize skin-contact winemaking techniques, spontaneous fermentation, and minimal added sulfur. Beyond her own label, she is a globally recognized traveling master vine pruner for Simonit & Sirch, and her partner is the esteemed Italian natural winemaker Nikolas Juretic.
